Design Serves (D*Serve) teaches the practice of design thinking to K-12 youth to help activate them as creative changemakers.
On February 25, Civic Creatives will partner with MAKES, a makerspace and career prep program at South Tech High School, to facilitate a Design Serves blitz workshop that teaches high school aged girls the process of design thinking while helping them understand the role of women in social design fields. Participants will discover and select social challenges facing girls across the world, and while working in design teams, they will brainstorm, draft, and prototype visual solutions that make the selected issues better.
This workshop will be facilitated by Civic Creatives leader and designer, De Andrea Nichols, and it will occur 1-5pm on February 25 at South Tech High School in St. Louis, MO. For more information about MAKES and the WE MAKE event for girls, please contact Albie Mitchell at APMitchell@ssdmo.org.
