**University Story (US)**
Upon the success of [The Stories Project](http://deandrean.com/tagged/The_Stories_Project) campaign in St. Louis, I utilized my senior design thesis at Washington University in St. Louis to research and understand how a story-sharing community could then live in the online setting for college communities.
Using the many stories I’d collected and re-created in print, I prototyped a social site, US, that allowed these to be showcased interactively.
The initial site infused all stories and participants along a horizontal drum and functioned as an archive. Upon clicking each face or visual work, users would then be taken to a profile page like the one below. It tells the story and work, shares who the original storyteller is, and showcases similar stories that users could view. Stemming from online vocabulary to “Like” or “Appreciate” items, its social interactivity allowed viewers to “Relate” to the participant’s experience.
A light, alternative version of the prototyped site was created as a means of evoking openness and greater interactivity. This version allowed viewers to organize the infused community by topic, by people, and by media while also soliciting responses to the stories.
